EPOXY COATED COILS

Every temperzone Split System Outdoor Unit has an epoxy coated coil (heat exchanger). The outdoor coils of Packaged Rooftop Units are also epoxy coated.

The temperzone epoxy coating provides the outdoor coil with the extra protection needed in many everyday environments, e.g. salt laden sea air, smog, sulphurous air, etc.

Coastal, heavy industrial and geothermal regions stand to benefit most from this enhancement. Just about all installations will have some gain as salt laden sea air travels far inland.

The heat transfer ability of the coil is unaffected by the epoxy coating. In fact, efficiency of the coil is retained over a longer period of time, due to the greatly reduced rate of coil corrosion.

The hydrophobic qualities of the epoxy coating ensures water quickly runs off the outdoor coil helping the unit to retain efficiency when the system is on heating cycle in damp conditions.

The benefit to the End User/Occupier is the air conditioner performs to optimum efficiency for a longer period, maintaining comfort levels and reducing running costs.

The benefit to the Building Owner is the overall life of the air conditioner is extended increasing value for money.

The benefit to the Specifier is he/she can comfortably recommend a product with long term proven benefits.

In 1992, temperzone engaged an independent laboratory to test the life of different coils when exposed to a corrosive environment. Click here to view the results of the Coil Fin Test.
